Protecting the Protectors: Addressing Vicarious Trauma in Regulatory and Investigative Work

Professionals responsible for investigating complaints and protecting the public often encounter difficult and emotionally charged material. Over time, this exposure can contribute to vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout. This session will explore the hidden mental health impacts of regulatory and investigative work within massage therapy oversight. Participants will gain insight into how these experiences affect well-being and learn practical tools to strengthen resilience, support healthy boundaries, and sustain themselves in this important work.
