MBLEx Support

The FSMTB works with State Boards and Agencies to ensure proper security for the delivery of the MBLEx. Additionally, FSMTB sends exam result reports to each state licensing board to ensure that applicants who have passed the examination are appropriately considered for licensure. If there are any disputes concerning MBLEx results, information provided on a candidate’s application, or verification data provided by state boards, FSMTB takes the necessary steps to ensure that the proper procedure is followed to authenticate the MBLEx result and the application process.

Should your state need to verify an information discrepancy or need information with regard to the MBLEx, please call 913.681.0380 or email mblex@fsmtb.org.

Government Relations

The Government Relations team actively tracks legislation through all fifty statehouses along with the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico on a continuous basis ensuring we are proactive in our efforts to help our Member Boards when assistance is needed. We keep up to date with best practices in regulation by serving as a governing member of the Federation of Associations of Regulatory Boards (FARB) and by being an active member of the Council on Licensure, Enforcement, and Regulation (CLEAR). We communicate regularly with our Member Boards and Agencies as these best practices evolve and change.

We stay up-to-date on the laws that regulate the practice of massage therapy to ensure that we act in the best interest of public protection. If your board or agency needs help proposing legislation, responding to legislation, or understanding new regulations, we can provide education and advocacy, as appropriate for our non-profit status.

Government licensing is frequently confused with voluntary, private certification. Consistent use of terminology is critical to promote both clarity and uniformity in statutes and regulations. This document is a helpful tool to educate and inform legislators, policymakers, and other stakeholders.

Massage Board Executive (MBE) Summit

The (MBE) Summit provides opportunities for executive directors/administrators and staff from each state member board or agency to gather and discuss key issues of mutual concern and share experiences that may benefit others.

Annual Meetings

The FSMTB Annual Meeting is designed for FSMTB members and those involved in regulation to learn and share information. Educators and the general public are also welcome to attend. Please be aware that registration priority is given to FSMTB Member Boards, and attendance may be limited to accommodate members at the discretion of FSMTB.

Massage Therapy Licensing Database (MTLD)

MTLD is a comprehensive, national database of licensed massage therapists that facilitates information sharing between state massage regulatory boards and agencies. Better information improves efficiency and effectiveness in licensure. MTLD is an important tool to facilitate licensee mobility and license portability, combat massage education fraud, and mitigate human trafficking.

In Touch with FSMTB

At the FSMTB, we prioritize communication with our Member Boards and Agencies. We strive to make ourselves available through various channels, including social media, phone, and email, so that our Member Boards can reach out to us at their convenience. Additionally, we send out a monthly digital communication called In Touch, which includes news, updates, and information about FSMTB operations. What sets In Touch apart is that it offers unique opportunities for Member Boards to volunteer and serve the FSMTB community. In Touch is a digital communication that is exclusively available to our Member Boards. If you are a member of your state licensing board or agency and would like more information or to begin receiving the monthly In Touch, please contact info@fsmtb.org.
