The 2024 Massage Board Executive Summit was held in Savannah, Georgia on April 4-5. Guest speakers included Dr. W. Keith Campbell, a psychology professor from the University of Georgia, who discussed general differences and evolving cultural and societal trends resulting from changing demographics and their impact on educational expectations, standards, and uniformity.

Occupational licensure compacts are legislatively enacted agreements between states to facilitate multistate practice and strengthen public protection for licensed professions. Since 2016, more than 300 pieces of compact legislation have been adopted by states and territories from the 17 available licensure compacts.

The FSMTB Annual Meeting is designed for FSMTB members and those involved in regulation to learn and share information. Educators and the general public are also welcome to attend. Please be aware that registration priority is given to FSMTB Member Boards, and attendance may be limited to accommodate members at the discretion of FSMTB.

Lawmakers in Nebraska are considering legislation that would enter the state into three different interstate licensing compacts for health care workers.

The Iowa Boards and Commissions Review Committee has published its final report offering recommendations to remove gender-balance requirements for board members, eliminate certain professional continuing education obligations and consolidate or remove more than 100 boards and commissions.
