We’re excited to announce the upcoming launch of the new Exam Service Center, featuring many technology upgrades—including application help, easy password reset, a faster process for education verification, and more.
We are moving hundreds of thousands of files to the new system. As a result, there will be a temporary technology blackout beginning March 1, lasting for up to two weeks. During this time, many online activities will not be available. For example, you cannot:
- Submit MBLEx applications
- Receive Authorizations to Test
- Transfer exam results
Learn how you can plan ahead for this technology outage by reading the section below that applies to you. Stay tuned to FSMTB.org for the most up-to-date information about this temporary technology blackout.

What To Expect
If you have not yet applied for the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEx), you have two options: 1) Apply before March 1, 2025, OR 2) wait until the new Exam Service Center launches.
1) If you choose to apply before March 1, please plan accordingly, as FSMTB will undergo a temporary technology blackout beginning March 1 and lasting up to two weeks. During this period, FSMTB will not be able to process applications or issue Authorizations to Test. Candidates will not be able to take the MBLEx without an ATT.
2) If you choose to wait until the new Exam Service Center launches, you will be able to create your FSMTB Exam Account and apply through the new system once it is live. Please visit our website regularly for the most up-to-date information.
If you submitted your application before March 1, 2025, and have not yet received your Authorization to Test, FSMTB will be unable to continue processing your application until the temporary technology blackout is complete. This blackout is anticipated to last up to two weeks.
Your MBLEx application will be transferred into the new Exam Service Center for processing. During this transition, you may receive emails from FSMTB regarding your application being submitted again in the new Exam Service Center. No additional fees will be required.
Once the new system is live, FSMTB will notify you and provide you with information on how to access your account, where you will be able to see the status of your application.
Please contact Pearson VUE to schedule your exam appointment.
During the temporary technology blackout starting March 1, 2025, you will not be able to log in to request a result transfer, and FSMTB will be unable to process result transfers. You may either submit your request before February 27 or wait until the new Exam Service Center launches.
Once the new Exam Service Center is launched, you will be able to submit results transfer forms through your account. To do so, go to the FSMTB Exam Service Center Account Login page and click on “Forgot Password.” You will then receive an email with your username and a link that will direct you to change your password.
During the temporary blackout starting March 1, 2025, EVC users will not be able to verify student education. This blackout period is expected to last up to two weeks.
For information regarding how this may affect your graduating classes/students, please read the New MBLEx Applicant section of this webpage and plan accordingly.
Once the new MBLEx Service Center is launched, school administrators seeking access to the EVC will need to click “Create FSMTB EVC Account” to request access to the EVC. Even if you had an EVC account in the old system, you still need to follow this process.
During the temporary technology blackout, FSMTB will still be able to send jurisdictional reports.
FAQs
Education Verification Center (EVC) Access
Existing EVC account holders need to create an FSMTB EVC account in the new Exam Service Center once it is live.
Yes, each campus will need its own EVC account. If you manage multiple campuses, you can have multiple EVC accounts. A unique email address will be needed for each campus.
While it is not mandatory for a school to upload student transcripts, it is possible for schools to do so. Please note, FSMTB retains the right to request a transcript at any time.
Once a student’s education is verified, it is considered confirmed and the school should not need to verify the student’s education again. Please note, FSMTB does reserve the right to request a student’s transcript at any time.
Paying for the MBLEx
By default, a school’s payment settings will be set to “WILL NOT pay for student MBLEx fees.” As a result, students will not be able to request that the school pay for their MBLEx fee.
If the EVC administrator at your school has updated the setting to “MAY PAY for students’ MBLEx fees,” students will be able to request that their school cover the MBLEx fee regardless of the number of attempts. Once a student makes this request, the EVC administrator will have the option to reject the payment request, which will then be sent back to the student for payment.
FSMTB can accept payment in the form of Automated Clearing House (ACH) payment, credit/debit card, or by check. Checks will need to be mailed with the printed invoice.
Yes, EVC administrators can select to pay multiple students’ MBLEx fees in one transaction.
Yes, the EVC administrator for each campus will need to set the setting to “WILL PAY for student MBLEx fees.” Once students apply online and select that the school is paying their MBLEx fees, the EVC administrator for each campus will have to select the students whom they are paying for, select “Check” as the form of payment, and print the invoice for each campus. The school will then need to write the check for the full amount of all campus invoices and mail the check to FSMTB with the invoices for each campus.
MBLEx Results and Result Transfer Forms (RTFs)
Exam results are confidential and, therefore, FSMTB cannot send results to a third party without a student’s express permission.
Students may complete a Result Transfer Form (RTF) and pay the processing fee to request that a copy of their unofficial score report be sent to a third party.
No, the student must fill out and submit the Result Transfer Form (RTF) online through their account.
The fee for the MBLEx Result Transfer is $40 per recipient.
