Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx®)
The MBLEx provides entry-level standards that assist state regulators in determining if an individual can competently and safely practice on consumers.
Create an FSMTB Examination Account
All applicants will have access to a personal FSMTB Examination Account. The first time you access the Examination Account, you will have to create a login and password. Once the account is set up, you can login with your password as many times as you want.
Through your Examination Account you can apply for the MBLEx, check the status of your application, or request that your exam results be sent to a state licensing board.
Read Before Applying
FSMTB strongly recommends that you read through the entire MBLEx Candidate Handbook and familiarize yourself with the MBLEx Content Outline before you apply for the examination. The MBLEx Candidate handbook is the most important source of information for those applying for the examination. In the handbook you will find information on eligibility requirements, application procedures, fees, scheduling, exam content, and results.

Results and Next Steps
After taking the MBLEx, the proctor will hand you a copy of your unofficial examination results. Please keep that result for your records. If the proctor does not give you a copy of your results, contact Pearson Vue at 888-790-4892 to put in a case number with them and Pearson Vue will email you your unofficial results within 7-10 business days.
Examination results are reported as PASS or FAIL. Unofficial MBLEx results are your copy of your results. If you fail, you will be given a diagnostic report of your performance in each MBLEx content area. The indicators on the diagnostic summary are provided to assist in future study.
Official MBLEx results are results that FSMTB sends directly to the state regulatory board or agency that you indicated on your MBLEx application. FSMTB will send your official examination result within five business days.
Passing results are used to support an application for licensure to practice massage/bodywork in a regulated jurisdiction. Passing the MBLEx does not result in a certification or credential of any kind, nor does submitting your MBLEx result to your state regulatory board or agency begin the licensing process. Before you can practice, you must apply for a license through your state regulatory board or agency and meet all your state’s requirements. Click the button below to find your regulated state licensing board/agency and make sure to apply for your license.
